How did you get started as a Make Up Artist?

As a young girl, Make up and makeovers have always been a passion. If anyone expressed a desire to change I was there with a paintbrush in hand. By simply changing lipstick or blush color, I could create a magical difference in their appearance. 

What is it like to work with celebrities?

I get to share a space on this earth with some of the most brilliant and talented people on earth.  My career has made it possible for me to live dreams of a lifetime.  

What is the most glamorous event you've attended?

Going to the White House with Dixie Carter.  Once for the Bill Clinton Inaugural, second a performance starring Ms Carter for PBS, hosted by the Clinton’s at the White House.  

What award shows have you done and how are they different from sitcoms?

Working with Billy Crystal at the Oscars was an event hard to describe.  I’ve had the privilege to work on every Award Show produced and this was one by far my favorite.The difference between Award Shows and Situation Comedy is Award shows are shot Live, all your mistake are shown with out correction and Sitcoms are shot in front of a live Audience.  Only they see your mistakes but you get to correct them.  WITH The exception of “Will & Grace” who shot 2 episodes live.  As far as Make up, choose an outstanding foundation to cover all flaws and keep them powderrf.    

You've been nominated for an Emmy? What's that like?

Being nominated for an Emmy and attending the ceremony is absolutely fantastic, but it’s a real heart felt experience meeting up with your coworkers after a long day of making up celebrities and putting them into the limo’s.  We all rush to someone’s home just in time to hopefully see our favorites win.  

Do you have any advice for someone wanting to become a professional make up artist?

If you feel you have a REAL passion for Make Up start by collecting make over books then practicing these lessons on your family and friends.  Purchase only the finest make up and materials needed for your makeovers to gain credibility and respect.   If you have a desire for special effects or educating yourself fully, which I did, you can acquire those books as well or attend Classes available in your area.
